10/24/2003 - Engine Oil or Coolant Leak (Install New Intake Manifold Gasket) #03-06-01-010B

An oil leak may result if the vertical bolts are not tightened before the diagonal bolts.

Diagonal bolts may require a crows foot to tighten.

Tighten
Tighten the vertical lower intake manifold bolts (1) to 7N·m (62 lb in).
Tighten the diagonal lower intake manifold bolts (2) to 7N·m(62 lb in).
Tighten the vertical lower intake manifold bolts (1) to 13N·m(115 lb in).
Tighten the diagonal lower intake manifold bolts (2) to 25N·m(18 lb ft).

04/11/2002 - Revised Lower Intake Manifold Installation #02-06-01-014

This bulletin is being issued to revise Steps 1 and 2 of the Lower Intake Manifold Installation procedure in the Engine Mechanical sub-section of the Service Manual.

Install the intake manifold gaskets.
Apply small drops (8-10 mm [0.31-0.39 in]) of RTV sealer, GM P/N 12346286 (in Canada, use GM P/N 10953476) or the equivalent to the four corners of the intake manifold to block joint (1).
Connect the small drops with a bead of RTV sealer that is between 8-10 mm (0.31-0.39 in) wide and 3.0-5.0 mm (0.12-0.20 in) thick (2).

The remaining steps are unchanged.

10/16/2002 - Revised Rocker Arm Bolt Fastener Tightening Specification #02-06-01-034

The correct torque for the rocker arm bolt is 14 N·m (124 lb in) plus 30 degrees.
